Emergency Plumbing Services in Watford
Emergency plumbers ready
day or night in Watford
The jobs we’re called out for most in Watford include isolation valves under sinks and toilets that have started dripping, hot taps slowing to a trickle because of limescale in the valves and outlets, and dishwasher waste connections leaking at the sink trap. We also repair cracked toilet pans, pipes ticking and creaking loudly as the heating warms up, and leaks on radiator pipework where it passes through floors. Our plumbers carry replacement valves, cartridges and fittings to fix most problems in one visit, and you’ll always know the price before any work begins.

Emergency Plumber FAQs for Watford
Which areas of Watford do you cover?
We cover all of Watford and nearby areas, including Oxhey, South Oxhey, Carpenders Park, Cassiobury, Nascot, Callowland, Leavesden, Garston, Holywell, Meriden, Woodside, Tudor, Vicarage, West Watford and Croxley Green.
My hot tap has slowed to a trickle. What’s causing it?
Common causes include limescale in the tap cartridge or aerator, a partly closed isolation valve, an airlock, or a blocked filter on a combi boiler. If only one tap is affected, the problem is usually in the tap itself. If all hot taps are slow, it’s more likely the boiler or cylinder, and we can test both.
My pipes tick and creak when the heating comes on. Is that a problem?
Usually it’s the pipes expanding as they heat up and rubbing against joists, floorboards or tight clips. It’s not dangerous, but it can be annoying. We can fit new clips and sleeves to stop the noise. If you hear loud banging from the boiler itself, call us, as that can point to a more serious fault.
The small valve under my sink or toilet is dripping. Can you replace it?
Yes. Isolation valves wear over time and start dripping from the seal or body. Avoid overtightening the nuts, as this can crack the fitting. Place a container underneath, and if the drip gets worse, turn off the main stop tap. We’ll replace the valve with a new one, usually in a few minutes.
Is the price agreed before the job starts?
Yes. Your plumber will diagnose the problem and give you a clear quote first. Nothing is done until you’ve agreed to it.
