Emergency Plumber FAQs for Huddersfield
Which areas in and around Huddersfield do you cover?
We cover all of Huddersfield and nearby areas, including Lindley, Edgerton, Birkby, Fartown, Sheepridge, Bradley, Deighton, Moldgreen, Dalton, Waterloo, Almondbury, Newsome, Lockwood, Crosland Moor, Paddock, Marsh, Salendine Nook, Milnsbridge, Golcar, Honley and Kirkburton.
My boiler pressure keeps rising even though the filling loop is closed. Why?
The filling loop valve may be letting water through even when it’s shut, or on a combi there may be an internal leak in the plate heat exchanger allowing mains water into the heating system. Either way, the pressure can climb until the relief valve releases water outside. A Gas Safe engineer can find which part is at fault and replace it.
My radiator is hot at one end and cold at the other. What’s wrong?
Check that the valves at both ends are fully open. If they are, the flow through the radiator may be restricted by sludge, a faulty valve or a lockshield valve that’s set too far closed. We can adjust or replace the valves and flush out sludge so the whole radiator heats evenly.
What should I do once a burst pipe has been repaired?
Open windows and use fans or a dehumidifier to dry the area. Don’t use any sockets or lights that got wet until an electrician has checked them, and keep an eye on ceilings for sagging. Take photos of the damage for your insurer. We can provide a written report of the repair to support any claim.
Will I get a quote before work starts?
Yes. Your plumber will diagnose the problem and give you a clear quote first. Nothing goes ahead until you’ve agreed to the price.
