Emergency Plumbing Services in Plymouth
Experienced plumbers on call
across Plymouth
Emergency jobs we regularly carry out in Plymouth include close-coupled toilets leaking where the cistern meets the pan, automatic air vents on boilers and pumps dripping and draining pressure from the heating, and radiator valves weeping around the spindle. We also fix shower trays leaking through failed sealant, kitchen sinks backing up from grease in the waste pipe, and pipes leaking where they pass through walls and floors. Our plumbers carry seals, valves and fittings for most common repairs, use pipe freezing kits to avoid draining systems where possible, and agree the price with you before starting.

Emergency Plumber FAQs for Plymouth

Water is leaking between my toilet cistern and the pan. What’s causing it?
On close-coupled toilets, the large rubber seal between the cistern and pan, or the washers on the fixing bolts, can perish over time. Turn off the isolation valve to the cistern and flush to empty it. We’ll replace the seals and refit the cistern so it’s watertight again.
A small valve on my boiler or heating pump is dripping. Is that serious?
That’s usually an automatic air vent, which lets trapped air out of the system. When it fails, it can drip water and cause the boiler to lose pressure. It’s a quick part to replace, and we’ll check the system pressure and look for any other leaks at the same time.
My radiator valve is leaking around the top. Do you need to drain the system?
Not always. A leak around the spindle is often caused by a worn gland or O-ring, which can sometimes be fixed by adjusting the gland nut or replacing the valve head. If the whole valve needs changing, we can often use a pipe freezing kit so the rest of the heating system doesn’t need draining.
Will I get a quote before work starts?
