Emergency Plumbing Services in Halifax
Dependable emergency plumbers
for Halifax homes
Emergency calls we often attend in Halifax include radiators that need bleeding again and again because air keeps getting into the system, heating pumps and boilers struggling with sludge build-up, and pipes leaking in cellars and under-stairs cupboards where they can go unnoticed. We also repair burst pipes, leaking cylinders and tanks, and blocked toilets and drains. Our plumbers trace the cause of each fault, carry the parts and filters needed for most repairs, and agree the price with you before starting any work.

Emergency Plumber FAQs for Halifax
Which areas in and around Halifax do you cover?
We cover all of Halifax and nearby areas, including King Cross, Pye Nest, Savile Park, Skircoat Green, Highroad Well, Pellon, Lee Mount, Claremount, Boothtown, Ovenden, Illingworth, Mixenden, Holmfield, Wheatley, Warley, Copley, Siddal, Southowram, Northowram and Shelf.
How do I bleed my radiators safely?
Turn the heating off and let the radiators cool. Hold a cloth under the bleed valve, turn it slowly with a radiator key until air hisses out, and close it as soon as water appears. Then check the boiler pressure and top it up if needed. If you have to bleed the same radiators often, air is getting in somewhere and we can find out why.
What is a magnetic filter and do I need one?
A magnetic filter fits on the heating pipework near the boiler and catches the black metal sludge that forms inside radiators and pipes. Without one, that sludge can block radiators and damage the pump and boiler. If your system has sludge problems, we can flush it and fit a filter to protect it going forward.
A pipe is leaking in my cellar. What should I do?
Turn off the stop tap, which is often located in the cellar, and keep away from any electrics if water is spreading. Pipes in cellars are prone to corrosion and freezing because they’re cold and rarely checked. We’ll repair the leak and can insulate the pipework to help prevent it happening again.
Will the price be agreed before you start?
Yes. Your plumber will diagnose the problem and give you a clear quote first. Work only starts once you’ve agreed to the price.
