Emergency Plumbing Services in Northampton
Rapid emergency plumbing
help across Northampton
Many of the emergency calls we take in Northampton come from DIY jobs that have gone wrong, such as a nail or screw driven through a hidden pipe while fitting flooring or shelves, a radiator bleed valve that has snapped or won’t close, or a new tap leaking at the compression fittings. We also handle boilers that won’t ignite, burst pipes in cold spells, and blocked drains and toilets. Our plumbers make the leak safe quickly, carry the fittings and pipe needed to repair most damage in one visit, and agree the price with you before starting any work.

Emergency Plumber FAQs for Northampton
Which areas of Northampton do you cover?
We cover all of Northampton and nearby areas, including Abington, Kingsley, Kingsthorpe, Semilong, St James, Spinney Hill, Parklands, Boothville, Weston Favell, Duston, Upton, Far Cotton, Delapre, Briar Hill, Hunsbury, East Hunsbury, Grange Park, Hardingstone, Wootton and Moulton.
I’ve put a nail or screw through a water pipe. What should I do?
Leave the nail or screw in place, as it will partly block the hole. Turn off the main stop tap straight away, and if it’s a heating pipe, switch off the boiler too. Open the cold taps to drain the pipes, keep water away from electrics, and call us. We’ll cut out the damaged section and fit a proper repair.
My radiator bleed valve won’t close or has snapped. How do I stop the water?
Switch off the boiler and close the valves at both ends of the radiator to reduce the flow. Hold a towel or container under the bleed point. We’ll replace the bleed valve, using isolation or a pipe freezing kit where possible to avoid draining the whole system, then top up the pressure.
I’ve just changed a tap and now it’s leaking underneath. Can you fix it?
Yes. Leaks after fitting a new tap often come from a misaligned compression fitting, a damaged olive or an overtightened flexible connector. Close the isolation valves under the sink or turn off the stop tap. We’ll refit the connections correctly and check everything is watertight.
Will I get a quote before the work begins?
Yes. Your plumber will diagnose the problem and give you a clear quote first. Nothing goes ahead until you’ve agreed to the price.
