My boiler keeps clicking but won’t light. What should I check?
The clicking is the boiler trying to ignite. First check your gas supply is on: see if your hob works, and if you have a prepayment meter, check it has credit. If gas is reaching the boiler, the cause is likely a faulty ignition electrode, gas valve or a blocked condensate pipe. Don’t keep resetting it, and call a Gas Safe engineer to find the fault.
Is it normal for a pipe outside my boiler to drip?
It depends which pipe. The plastic condensate pipe that runs to a drain will often drip or release water while the boiler is running, which is normal. The thinner copper pipe that usually ends pointing back at the wall is the pressure relief pipe, and it should stay dry. If that one is dripping, the boiler pressure is likely too high or a valve has failed, and it needs checking.
Why has my shower suddenly lost pressure?
Common causes include a scaled-up shower head, a failing shower pump, a worn cartridge in the shower valve or a partly closed isolation valve. If every tap in the house has also lost pressure, the problem may be with the supply. We’ll test the system and fix the cause so your shower works properly again.
Will I get a quote before you begin?
