Emergency Plumbing Services in Stoke-on-Trent
Emergency plumbers for every
part of Stoke-on-Trent
Emergency calls we often attend in Stoke-on-Trent include showers that turn cold or weak whenever another tap is used, long waits for hot water to reach the tap, and loft tanks with missing lids where debris is affecting the water. We also deal with collapsed or cracked underground drains that keep blocking, burst pipes in cold rooms and extensions, and boilers that have stopped working. Our plumbers find the cause rather than just the symptom, carry the parts for most repairs, and agree the price with you before starting any work.

Emergency Plumber FAQs for Stoke-on-Trent
Which areas of Stoke-on-Trent do you cover?

My shower goes cold or weak when someone uses another tap. Why?
When another tap or toilet is used, it takes water from the same supply and upsets the balance of hot and cold reaching the shower. Narrow supply pipes, a combi boiler near its flow limit or a non-thermostatic shower valve make it worse. We can assess the supply and fit a thermostatic shower valve or other improvements to keep the temperature steady.
Why does it take so long for hot water to reach my tap?
The further a tap is from the boiler or cylinder, the more cold water has to run out of the pipe before hot water arrives. Uninsulated pipes and long pipe runs make the wait longer. We can insulate pipework, reroute pipes to shorten the run or advise on other options to reduce waiting time and wasted water.
The water from my bathroom taps looks or tastes odd. Is it safe?
Bathroom taps are often fed from a cold water tank in the loft rather than straight from the mains, so this water shouldn’t be used for drinking. If the tank has no lid or a damaged lid, dust, insects and debris can get in. We can clean or replace the tank and fit a proper insulated lid to keep the water clean.
Do you agree the price before starting work?
Yes. Your plumber will diagnose the problem and give you a clear quote first. Work only begins once you’ve agreed to the price.
